Switch Setup:

  1. !SelectGlobe.png

    • From the home page of VCSA in the menu on the left side, Select the globe.

  2. !NewDistributedSwitch.png

    • Right click "DCO Datastore"
    • Hover over "Distributed Switch"
    • Click "New Distributed Switch..."

  3. !SOPs/ESXi and VCSA/VCSA/VCSA Configuration Photos/NameAndLocation.png

    • Name: Infrastructure Distributed Switch
    • Click: Next

  4. !SelectVersion.png

    • Select Version "7.0.3 - ESXi 7.0.3 and later"
    • Click Next

  5. !ConfigureSettings.png

    • Number of uplinks: 4
    • Network I/O Control: Enabled
    • Default port group: Not Selected
    • Click Next

  6. Check configuration

    • Click Finish

  7. Complete steps 1 through 2 again.

  8. !ToolsNameAndLocation.png

    • Name: Tools Distributed Switch
    • Click Next

  9. !SelectVersion 1.png

    • Select Version "7.0.3 - ESXi 7.0.3 and later"
    • Click Next

  10. !ConfigureSettings 1.png

    • Number of uplinks: 4
    • Network I/O Control: Enabled
    • Default port group: Not Selected
    • Click Next

  11. Check configuration

    • Click Next Port Group Setup:

  12. !NewDistributedPortGroup.png

    • From the menu on the left right click "Infrastructure Distributed Switch"
    • Hover over "Distributed Port Group"
    • Select "New Distributed Port Group..."

  13. This step will be completed for each VLAN you have except "Tools"

    1. Domain ID: 3
    2. VCSA Management ID: 5
    3. ESXi Management ID: 10
    4. ESXi vMotion ID: 11
    5. ESXi Provisioning ID: 12
    6. Tool Web Interface ID: 25
    7. Workstations ID: 30
    8. Test ID: 40
    9. Trunk ID: 666
    • !PortGroupNameAndLocation.png
      • Name: <\VLAN Name>
      • Click Next
    • !PortGroupConfigureSettings.png
      • Port Binding: Static binding
      • Port allocation: Elastic
      • Number of ports: 8
      • Network resource pool: (default)
      • VLAN type: VLAN
      • VLAN ID: 3
    • Confirm Configuration
      • Click Finish

  14. Follow step 1 but on the "Tools Distributed Switch"

  15. Name and Location:

    • Name: Tools
    • Click Next

  16. Configure settings:

    • Port Binding: Static Binding
    • Port allocation: Elastic
    • Number of ports: 8
    • Network resource pool: (default)
    • VLAN type: None
    • VLAN ID: 20

  17. Confirm configuration

    • Click Finish Adding Host:

  18. !AddAndManageHosts.png

    • In the menu on the left, right click "Infrastructure Distributed Switch"
    • Click " Add and Manage Hosts..."

  19. !Addhosts.png

    • Select "Add hosts"
    • Click Next

  20. !Selecthosts.png

    • Select ESXi host
    • Click Next

  21. !ManagePhysicalAdapters.png

    • vmnic1: Uplink1

  22. Click Next

  23. Click Next

  24. Confirm Configuration

    • Click Finish Removing Temporary Port Groups:

  25. !SelectHostTab.png

    • Click Host in the top right menu

  26. !EditSettings.png

    • Right Click "DC"
    • Click "Edit Settings"

  27. !ClickDomain.png

    • Click "Domain"
    • Click "Browse ..."

  28. !SelectDistributedDomain.png

    • Click "Domain" with "Infrastructure Distributed Switch"
    • Click "OK"

  29. Click "OK"

  30. Complete Step 2 for "VCSA"

  31. !SelectVCSAManagement.png

    • Click "VCSA Management"
    • Click "Browse"

  32. !SelectDistributedVCSAMan.png

    • Click "VCSA Management" with "Infrastructure Distributed Switch"

  33. Click "OK" Deleting Temporary Port Groups:

  34. Return to ESXi (10.2.10.30)

  35. !SelectNetworking.png

    • In the menu on the left click "Networking"

  36. !SelectPortGroupsToDelete.png

    • Right Click The standard port groups:
      • Domain
      • VCSA Management
      • VM Network
    • Click "Remove"
